Male and female, handfed, tamed, and fully weaned. Come with starter kit: large cage and travel cage. When fully grown, Buffon Macaws are beautiful, affectionate parrots. They enjoy being out of their cages as much as possible and playing with their human companions.
They love to be cuddled for hours at a time and enjoy being petted on the back of their neck (the area from the base of the beak down to the chest). Buffon’s macaw ( Ara ambigua ) is a mostly green parrot , a member of a large group of Neotropical parrots called macaws. A medium-sized macaw, at 65 cm (26 in) long and weighing 900 g (2 lb), it is slightly smaller than the great green macaw . It is on average longer, but slightly thinner beaked than the scarlet macaw .
It has a large black curved bill, bare white facial patch around and above the big dark eyes, and yellow tinged lower mandible. The larger flight feathers are mostly light blue and edged with black, though in their secondary feathers some are edged with green. The tail is tipped mostly blue-gray with red on the upper surface of the tail feathers. Like other large macaws, it has strong legs and toes.
