How It All Started With Exotic Pets For Sale

Growing up on a working cattle ranch near San Antonio Texas, Ashley Duncan spent her childhood raising show rabbits with 4H, exotic pet birds and cattle with her family.

As a young teenager Ashley met a kinkajou for the first time and was immediately entranced. Working alongside her family, she bred and raised all sorts of small exotics from specialty colored dwarf hamsters, to hedgehogs and fennec foxes.

After graduating college she began working a regular 8-5 office job. However, it was immediately clear that it wasn’t what she was destined to do in life, working with animals and nature was Ashley’s true calling.

Wildwood Exotic Pets was founded and created in 501 West Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494.

After their first child was born, Ashley left her regular job and has not returned to the public workforce since. Instead, spending her life dedicated to growing and developing Wildwood Exotic Animal Ranch. After almost 10 years of building ultra-successful breeding programs it was time to move to bigger and better places. Wildwood Exotics moved to a much larger property in 501 West Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494.

The ranch move has been wildly successful, and has created opportunities to care for more variety of large species with room to grow and expand. Since moving the ranch has added private tours and encounters, as well as its exclusive Cuddle Cabin where visitors can cuddle with its most rare exotic babies.

Wildwood Exotic Pets, also known as has been serving Winnsboro and the surrounding East Texas communities and the world as a whole for a very long time now. Then in April 2020, we became one of East Texas’ only exotic pets supply online stores.

We carry many exotic species from all over the world, including kangaroos, exotic birds, and many more.

OUR EXOTIC ANIMALS

At Wildwood Exotic Pets, we love animals. Our staff members grow close to each animal that comes through our doors.

We are passionate about providing the best care for them while they’re with us and finding them the best homes when they leave.

Most of our animals come to us as babies. For the pets that stay at our store for a while, we care for them, take them to the vet, handle their vaccinations, and keep good healthcare records for them.

We take all of our animals to Dr. Cathy Cranmore, DVM at Tri-Lakes Veterinary Clinic.

When you take one of our animals home, we provide you with its records and other documentation. Our goal is to help you take the best care of your exotic pet possible.

IS IT LEGAL TO OWN AN EXOTIC PET?

One of the most frequently asked questions we hear from customers is, “Is owning an exotic pet legal?”

Other states may have different laws. If you live outside of Texas, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with your state’s special licensing requirements.

We encourage you to do a little bit of research before bringing home an exotic pet. We can also answer any questions you have.

We’ll give you health and immunization records and a care sheet so you can take good care of the newest and cutest member of your family.
